I think I might be the world's worst blogger!
Sorry to anyone who cares (probably not too many :)), I have not updated my blog in almost a year! So here goes, this year has been amazing! Gabriel is almost 2 and is definately a handful, but I love it. He runs around all day and says all kinds of hilarious things. One of his favorite things to say is "Show?" while nodding at me, like of course you will say yes... I usually let the poor kid down and say no though. I am a mean mom who only lets him watch one show a day-- if that. He also loved Halloween so much! He was a dragon and thought "tick-treat" ing was the coolest thing he had ever done, he tries to get me to take him everyday now :) We go for walks a few times a week with my awesome aunt Fawn, we take the dogs (my two and her two) it kind of becomes a circus some days. In August we went to Disnyland with Jared's family. It was so fun and we all had a blast! Gabriel loved the characters and would not wait in line to see them, it was so cute to watch him snuggle up to them and of course they all loved him too. The chipmunks wanted to keep him forever! Other funny things Gabriel says are... any male adult he sees, he points and says "man" then asks them for a hug, he calls pumpkins "cumpies" and jack-o-lanterns "ooooooooo cumpies", he is learning ownership and so everything is "mommy book" or "baby book" or "daddy book" etc. He likes to point to my bum and say "mommy bum" the other day he turned his pumpkin over and said "cumpy bum" I laughed so hard, he is just to darn cute and funny. I am excited to announce he is going to be a big brother! I am pregnant again! Yippee! It is a GIRL! and I am due Feb 25th. Don't tell Jared, he is being a pest again, not wanting to know :) I couldn't do it. I tried to wait and lasted about 36 hours after my ultrasound and gave in. The tech gave me an envelope with it inside, in case I caved... which obviously, I did. I am nervous to have two little ones running around but so so so excited. Gabriel needs a playmate and someone to help be responsible for. I think it will help in the excess energy department lol. Jared and I are just happy and enjoying our life together.

I can't believe my baby is 1!!
How time flies, Gabriel just turned 1-- 2 months ago, and I love it. He is so much fun right now, he is walking and plays with his toys. How crazy that just a few months ago he wasn't even crawling! I love that he is sleeping now.... That is definately the best part. I love being a mommy. Here are some newer pics for you all.

Fishin' "Down South"
Well, I guess you all may (or may not) want to know what is going on with me. Jared, Gabriel, and I went down to Jared's family's property last week with a couple of our friends, Devon and Chelsey. The first day, we went to a lake, called Forsythe, just up the road from the property. Gabriel didn't have a life jacket so I took him for a walk, and a scenic drive while the others went out in the boat. A couple of hours passed and Jared came in to meet up with me. He took Gabriel and I got to go out on the lake. At this point everyone was a little frusterated and annoyed because those wiley fish had skunked them. Devon and Chelsey were getting bites but not landing anything. I let out my line and the time passed, as we drove around the lake... Nothing happened for a long time. We drove down near the dam, where Jared and Gabriel were hanging out with Devon's stepdad. As we went around in a loop past the dam, SLAM! My line got hit!!! I set my hook and started reeling in. I just love the adrenaline you get when bringing in a fish. I fought him, hoping I would be able to land him (and show these yahoos how it is done) and I got him! He was a great looking tiger trout. A few minutes later and in about the same spot it happened again! SLAM! Another bite and another fight. I caught 2 fish and then the weather started to turn cold and rainy so we called it a day. That night was a rough one. Gabriel was sick and cried most of the night. When morning finally came, we decided to try our luck up at Fish Lake. (One of my alltime favorite places in the world, it also happens to be where Jared proposed to me:)) As we arrived at the lake I got Gabriel ready to go out on the water. (We had borrowed a life vest for him from a cousin) Away we went. Not too long into our boat ride I once again let out my line and hoped for the best. Well how excited do you think I was when......SLAM! Once again I had a fish on my line! I pulled him on in and he turned out to be the prettiest rainbow trout I have ever seen. The pink stripe down him was so vibrant and he was so shiny and beautiful! After that we started having good luck all around. Chelsey caught 2 rainbows, Devon caught one, and I caught another. We had a great day and saw eagles flying overhead and a deer at the waters edge getting a drink. What a beautiful trip.

Back to work
So I am back to work after 3 months of maternity leave. I have to say the time off was really nice, but at the same time coming back is kind of fun. I get to see my awesome friends and it is kind of a nice break sometimes to be away from a crying baby. I adore him more than I can even say, but sometimes the relative quiet of work (even at the airport) is nice. Does that make me a horrible person, or a bad mom? I hope not, but maybe it does. Although I really wasn't happy about the welcome back to work news I recieved that potentially a couple hundred of my friends and coworkers are going to lose their jobs. Delta is forcing us to furlough a bunch of people and I am really bummed out about it. In addition to this news I was informed that Delta decided to up our yearly fee from 50 bucks to 200 bucks! Now I know you are probably all thinking "how spoiled is this girl that she is upset at paying 200 dollars to fly free all year?", but 200 bucks is a lot of money when both you and your husband have been out of work for 3 months! There are days like today ,though where I really just want to be home with my little guy, and Jared, but alas, here I sit at work...

Being a mommy
Well, three and a half months have flown by since Gabriel came! I love being a mommy, but it is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. :) Gabriel keeps me going all day and most of the night so my old friend -sleep, is elusive. Poor little guy has colic and crys A LOT! But we are doing better recently, when he finally settles down and takes good naps. I can't believe how much he changes everyday, and how much bigger he is, versus when he was born. He now weighs a whopping 14 pounds! He definately loves to eat, I think it may be the only thing he really feels is worthy of his attention. He is beginning to play more and coo a lot. TV grabs his attention quickly and I try not to let him watch a lot of it. I don't want him to be a couch potato afterall. I am hoping he will start to sleep through the night soon, so far his personal best is only about four hours, but maybe soon I will get a full night's sleep.

Gabriel
He is finally here! As most of you know I have been waiting for this for a long time, a lot longer than 9 months. I have been wanting a baby for my whole life and we tried a long time to get him. Gabriel was born at LDS hospital on December 16 2008 at 7:45 am. He had to come by C-section because he refused to drop into the birth canal, (can you blame him?) I was in labor 20 hours and was 5 days late ughhhh. But it was all worth it when I saw my little guy. Jared just adores him. What a great daddy he is. Well now for what I know you all really want, no more blabbing from me, just pictures!
He was a screamer right from the start. Actually he is a terrific baby.
First bath, it went ok but he didn't love it, he loves them now though.
This is his blessing he looked adorable!

Maternity Pics!

Picture day!
Today my husband's cousin Misty had me come over and took some very cute maternity pictures of me. Anyone who knows me well knows how much it takes for me to admit that they are cute. I am notorious for hating pics of me, but Misty is an artist. I will let you decide for yourself. I have a bunch but only one dowloaded currently so hang in there and I will post a bunch more.

Can You Believe It?!
I am due in less than 4 weeks!! I can't really wrap my head around the fact that I am almost going to be a mom!!! It is the scariest, but most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. I am terrified of the giving birth part but even more scared about after, when I have to then be responsible for this whole other person. Yikes! I will need all the help I can get from my friends, so if you are reading this, listen up, I need you... Love you all talk to you soon.

The Greatest Parents Any Girl Could Have.
I want to tell you all about my parents. When I was six months old, my father was infected with a bacteria that attacked his heart. He was a doctor and was infected by a patient. He very nearly didn't survive. I obviously don't remember this scary time, but have heard about it from my siblings my whole life. I do remember however growing up with him in and out of the hospital. I also remember my mother's hard work to raise her five children. When my father fell ill she had to return to school to provide for us. I still can't understand how one woman was able to juggle school, work, a sick husband, and five children. Throughout all of these struggles, they both had our best interests in mind, and dealt with each difficulty without complaint. I couldn't have asked for better examples. My father, although a physically weak man throughout the remainder of his life, was the smartest, most spirtually strong man I have ever known. My father studied and improved his mind until the day he passed away, when I was nearly 20 years old. I am so impressed that with every excuse to sit back and feel sorry for himself, he never did. If I ever needed help with homework or any project I had a built in tutor who just happened to be a medical doctor! My mother, became an English teacher and worked so hard for us kids. I remember her being exhausted from working so hard, but still cooking dinner for our family every night. Both of my parents were spiritual giants. They set such a good example for me by going to church every week, and magnifying every calling they were ever given. My mother, who was always busy made time every Saturday to go to the temple. I could go on and on about how wonderful it was to have such splendid parents but I have to sign off for now.
My mommy and me on my wedding day. I will be posting a pic of my dad as soon as possible.

Me, the planet
So if you have seen Juno, you probably get what I mean by the whole planet thing. I am getting enormous. (at least that's how it feels) I get different responses from everyone. Everything from, "I can't even tell that you are pregnant", to "Wow you are really big. " (for everyone's information I prefer the former!!) I am getting so close only 9 weeks left, hip hip hooray!

Fireworks
My honey, Jared, is the head pyrotechnician for all of the Salt Lake Bee's baseball games. He basically shoots all of their fireworks shows each year. I help as much as I can. It is a ton of hard and hot work!! I used to be much more helpful than I am now, since, I am well on my way to becoming a planet! (If you couldn't tell that is a pregnancy reference) I filmed his last show on the 5th of July. I hope you like it. This is just the end, the whole show was awesome and 12 minutes long so I only posted the finale.
Ok, so it wouldnt upload, but I'm still working on it, so stay tuned!

Well Rachy's Pregnant!!!
It finally happened! I am so excited, so is Jared, we can't wait. I had my first ultrasound about a week ago!! I got to hear the baby's heartbeat, it was so amazing. I am due in early December. I hope the baby comes on time and not too late because I don't want it to have a Christmas time birthday. Jared doesn't want to find out what we are having, but I really want to know. I guess we still have a couple months to decide before they can even tell. I will keep everyone updated with changes.
